Can I Use Essential Oils on my Dog?
Above is my sweet sweet dog Riley. We love this precious pooch!! I adopted her from the local shelter 7 years ago, and it has flown by! She is a Border Collie/Lab mix, and when she is not "concerned" (as she is above) those ears are perked right up!
When I first received myYoung Living Premium Starter Kit almost 3 years ago, my VERY FIRST night, I diffused two oils, Lavender and Peace and Calming. 2 drops of each, to help my husband sleep better. It also happened to storm like crazy that night! Now Riley is a bit of nut-case in a storm, and I knew I had to find her to help her out. After searching the house, I ended up finding her in our bedroom. Right next to the diffuser! She found it on her own with that super smart doggie nose and was plastered up against the night-stand upon which it rested. She was not shaking or spazing out - just sitting there calmly. I thought "son of a gun! The oils are awesome!" We had a rough summer that year, but every time it stormed, out came the Peace and Calming!
Since that time, I have purchased books on this subject, such as this one, and a few more, and sat in a class or two. I am not a veterinarian or vet-tech, but I know alot on this subject and am presenting some of my tips in a Facebook Class on Saturday February 11 which will stay open to the public for 2 weeks.
"Can I use Essential Oils on my dog?" That is a question I get a LOT! Well, if you use a properly made, organic, therapeutic grade safe oil, then the answer is yes! NOT ALL OILS ARE CREATED EQUAL! Please be smart! The tips in the Facebook use many of the oils in the premium starter kit!
